Eric Adams, 47, was about to be arrested in connection with Monday night’s mass shooting. Police spotted him with a gun on Dwayne Stedman Avenue before he ran into a nearby yard.

“Officers began giving Adams verbal commands to drop the firearm, however, Adams ignored those commands and died by suicide,” police told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Two of the victims, both women, one in her 40s and another in her 50s, died at the crime scene. So did two women and a man at a neighboring apartment. They were in their 20s.

None of the victims were identified by local police. Their names will be confirmed following autopsies by the Clark County coroner’s office. Medical professionals will also reveal the cause and manner of their deaths.

The unnamed 13-year-old victim remained in critical condition on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at University Medical Center where she was rushed in an effort to save her life. Police didn’t detail her injuries.

It’s unclear why Adams allegedly opened fire on the six victims. No one else appeared to have been wounded. It’s unknown if any guns were seized by police.

Was ‘Extremely Dangerous’

Until he was located, Adams was described by North Las Vegas police as armed and “extremely dangerous,” Las Vegas TV station KTNV reported.

Shortly after the deadly attack, police warned the public to be wary if they spotted him.

Anyone who sees Adams should not approach him and should call 911 immediately,” police advised in an earlier statement.

On Tuesday morning, cops told NBC News that Adams “is no longer a threat to the community.” If he had been arrested, he likely would have been charged with multiple counts of murder. If found guilty, he could have faced many decades in prison.

Authorities revealed the deadly shootings took place at about 10 p.m. on Monday at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Casa Norte Drive, near Commerce Street and Lone Mountain Road.

On Tuesday morning, two vans from the coroner’s office and several police vehicles were seen at Craig Ranch Villas, 370 Casa Norte Drive in North Las Vegas, according to the Review-Journal. Yellow police tape blocked off the suspected crime scene.

Resident Calls Shootings ‘Crazy’

When speaking to a reporter, one resident of Craig Ranch Villas, Taylor Holmes, 47, said she’s lived there for three years. No prior shootings there were similar to this one.

“You can’t really control anybody’s actions,” Holmes told the Review-Journal. “For five people to be unalive, that’s crazy.”
