Various buildings and sheds were connected to hold the gaming operation, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar explained during a press conference at the crime scene.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\"><p><strong>I would consider this a resounding success,&#8221; <\/strong>Salazar told the media. Four suspects were apprehended.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Three men were in custody following the search. They likely will be charged with gambling offenses, Salazar added. One was in charge of security, while another ran gambling operations. A fourth suspect, a woman, was charged with possession of Methamphetamine (meth). At least two weapons were seized.<\/p>\n<p>Their identities were not immediately released.No one was injured during the raid.<\/p>\n<p>The gambling complex has been in operation for 10 years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\"><p><strong>It\u2019s pretty well known in the area,\u201d<\/strong> Salazar said about the operation.<strong> \u201cSo, thankfully, we were able to get in and get it shut down.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office used a SWAT team to ram through a gate to enter the South Side complex.<\/p>\n<h2>ATM on Property<\/h2>\n<p>Bags containing cash also were found on Friday. One bag held about $15,000. Others may have just been stored on the property.<\/p>\n<p>Many times, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/texas-legislature-to-once-again-consider-bills-to-clarify-eight-liner-rules\/\">eight-liner machines<\/a> are used in gaming operations found in the county. An eight-liner resembles a slot machine. Depending on the type, a player \u201cwins\u201d if a horizontal, vertical, or a diagonal row of objects line up.<\/p>\n<h2>Prior Raid<\/h2>\n<p>A year ago, up to 100 workable<a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/san-antonio-texas-historic-raid-leads-to-hundreds-of-illegal-gambling-machines\/\"> gaming machines<\/a> were seized during another gambling raid in San Antonio. Another 200 or so non-working gaming machines were also discovered at the site during that raid.<\/p>\n<p>The 20,000 to 30,000 square-foot site was also suspected as a location for human trafficking and illegal drug dealing, according to Salazar.<\/p>\n<p>Some 29 people were apprehended after the raid. Of those, eight were arrested and placed in jail on various offenses. The offenses ranged from outstanding warrants, ID theft, and violation of a protective order. Additional charges against those detained could include organized crime charges, Salazar said.<\/p>\n<p>Those arrested included men and women.
