Operators Continue to Bleed<\/h2>\n
As a result of the lackluster activity in Macau and suppressed operations in all of its markets, Melco International Development is struggling to find solid ground. The parent company of Melco Resorts & Entertainment reported net revenue of $1.07 billion for the first half of the year.<\/p>\n
This was a drop of 28% from last year. The good news is that Melco has more money available \u2013 around $1.65 billion in cash and $1.1 billion in credit \u2013 to keep it moving forward.<\/strong><\/p>\nSands China also took a hit. It recently reported a first-half loss of $760 million, following losses last year. Wynn Macau also reported shrinkage in its piece of the market, losing around $50 million from the first half of 2021.<\/p>\n
It hasn\u2019t been all bad, though.
