It means Jackpot.com\u2019s logo will be displayed in Dallas\u2019 AT&amp;T Stadium, Houston\u2019s Toyota Center, and San Antonio\u2019s AT&amp;T Center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But even with its pro-team affiliations, Jackpot.com users won&#8217;t be able to wager on sports. It is illegal to do so in Texas, at least for now.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also on Monday, Jackpot.com announced a $7 million funding round.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout\">\n<p>Among those investing in the site are the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, San Francisco 49ers owners\u2019 Aurum Partners, the Tisch family &#8212; co-owners of the New York Giants &#8212; Detroit Venture Partners led by Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert, as well as BettorCapital. Bettor Capital is an early-stage firm focused on online gaming.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Jackpot.com completed a $35 million Series A funding round in June.<\/p>\n<p>The site, which is certified by the National Council on Problem Gambling, relies on technological solutions to help it identify problem gamblers. Among its features are limits on daily deposits, self-suspension, self-exclusion, and responsible gambling content and alerts.<\/p>\n<h2>Lottery Is Popular<\/h2>\n<p>Texas is the third-largest lottery market in the US, according to the Texas Lottery Commission. In 2022, more than $8 billion was spent on lottery tickets in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Since launching in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated $36.1 billion in revenue for the state and distributed $78.5 billion in cash to lottery players.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"main-blockquote\"><p><strong>More than half of Americans buy lottery tickets each year, but only a fraction are bought online \u2013 including in Texas, the country\u2019s third-largest lottery market,\u201d<\/strong> Akshay K. Khanna, Jackpot.com CEO, said in a statement. <strong>\u201cTexans embrace innovation, and we know people across the Lone Star State will embrace Jackpot.com\u2019s modern way to play.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The announcement about Jackpot.com&#8217;s launch comes as many lobbyists work to bring expanded gambling to Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Texas\u2019 politically powerful Lt. Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/texas-gambling-future-likely-up-to-lt-gov-dan-patrick-as-legislature-begins-session\/\">Dan Patrick<\/a>, R, continues to have strong influence over whether gambling proposals could move forward in the Republican-dominated state senate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In November, state Sen. Carol Alvarado, D-Houston, introduced a bill to authorize four destination casinos and allow sports wagering in the state.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There also would be limited expanded gambling at racinos and tribal casinos under her legislation.<\/p>\n<h2>Huge Jackpots<\/h2>\n<p>Jackpot.com&#8217;s Texas announcement came one day before Tuesday\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/mega-millions-soars-to-1-1b-fifth-richest-lottery-jackpot-in-us-history\/\">Mega Millions<\/a> drawing, which has an estimated jackpot of $1.1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>That is the third-largest amount in Mega Million\u2019s history. It is also the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/mega-millions-soars-to-1-1b-fifth-richest-lottery-jackpot-in-us-history\/\">fifth-largest lottery jackpot<\/a> in US history.<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout\">\n<p>There have only been five other times when a US lottery jackpot went above $1 billion. Each of those five jackpots occurred since Mega Millions and its primary multistate competitor, Powerball, made winning the jackpots more difficult by lengthening the games\u2019 odds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In November, a $2.04 billion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.casino.org\/news\/powerball-2b-jackpot-won-by-single-ticket-sold-in-california\/\">Powerball<\/a> jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in California.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jackpot.com was launched on Monday in the lottery-ticket-hungry state of Texas.
