Zak Bagans, host of cable TV\u2019s \u201cGhost Adventures,” recently announced on Instagram his acquisition of a major Hollywood horror artifact for his Zak Bagans\u2019 The Haunted Museum in downtown Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

According to Bagans, his latest museum acquisition is the \u201cORIGINAL DEMON prop (his caps, not ours) used in the filming of the \u2018The Conjuring 2\u2019 movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

If you’ve seen \u201cThe Conjuring 2\u201d and the animatronic demon suit doesn\u2019t ring a bell, that\u2019s because it never appeared in the movie, which may be why TMZ<\/em> reported that the acquisition, from a horror collectible shop, only set Bagans back $6,000.<\/p>\n

Director James Wan filmed only a few scenes with the suit before replacing it with Valak, a demon nun whom he felt would be a more personal foe for the movie\u2019s main character, Lorraine Warren.<\/p>\n

Warren, a Catholic school graduate, was the real-life paranormal investigator who, along with her husband, Ed, perpetrated the proven hoax<\/a> that inspired the \u201cAmityville Horror\u201d series of films.<\/p>\n

In his Instagram post, Bagans said he will display his latest acquisition in the \u201cDevil\u2019s Rocking Chair,\u201d which his museum describes as \u201cthe demonic throne\u201d that inspired \u201cThe Conjuring 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fiction is Stranger than Truth<\/h2>\n

Bagans is known for stretching the truth about his museum’s exhibits, including its very centerpiece. (As Casino.org <\/em>previously reported, the \u201cworld\u2019s most haunted object\u201d was a hoax<\/a> perpetrated by a horror writer who wanted to test whether he could fool people into buying a literally worthless wine cabinet by fabricating its backstory on eBay.)<\/p>\n

In case a $6,000 piece of movie memorabilia that no horror film devotee will recognize wasn\u2019t a strong enough lure, Bagans apparently fabricated his own backstory for the acquisition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an extra disturbing piece because this is exactly what the horned demon looked like in my dream one week before I bought the Demon House and started filming the documentary in Gary, Indiana,\u201d he wrote in his Instagram post, referring to his 2018 film, \u201cDemon House,\u201d which professes to chronicle \u201cthe most authenticated case of possession in American history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum not only displays disproven hoaxes as genuine, but also what Bagans calls \u201cmurderabilia\u201d — a distasteful assortment of real-life artifacts including Ted Bundy\u2019s glasses, a painting made using the cremated ashes of Charles Manson, and a Camaro once owned by David Koresh.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
